Simurgh Ensemble is a performance group dedicated to bringing the rich musical traditions of Iran and the surrounding Middle Eastern regions to the stage in Ōtautahi. With a mission to celebrate shared cultural connections through music, the ensemble weaves intricate melodies and poetic lyrics that transcend centuries and borders.
The group has recently gained national recognition, with members performing alongside the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra in their acclaimed Beyond Words concert series. Their artistry also earned them the honour of performing at the New Zealand Parliament during their 2025 Eid al-Fitr celebration.
