Trades and Trailer 101

Come join us for an open day at Cahoots for:

1) Workshop inductions - learn what amazing and gnarly things you can do at the Cahoots workshop! They have all sorts of tools from sanders and metal lathes to laser cutters and 3D printers. Closed toe shoes are a must. Please allow for 30min for the induction. The Cahoots crew will take you on an initial walk through the workshop along with a safety briefing. Tool training and full induction to obtain membership will be dependent on how quiet the workshop is on the day - so you may need to go back on another day to do this.

2) Our resident barber, Rhubarber, also doubles as a mechanic! They will take you through car engine maintenance, tyre changes, and show you how to kickstart a car.

3) Trailers! Learn how to properly hook and load a trailer.
If you have your NZ restricted/full car license, you have the chance to learn how to drive and back a trailer with an experienced person as your passenger princess. $5 fee applies to cover fuel (paid on the day). The car and trailer will be provided. Please allow for 20-30 mins, and expect to drive around the Mt Cook suburb. If you need an emotional support/hype crew, they can hop on the backseat while we drive around as long as they can be not distracting.

Additional notes:

• It will be a drop in session kind of day but we would appreciate it if you could RSVP so we can make sure we have enough volunteers for the day!

• You can give koha either through the Cahoots website or at the event on the day (via online bank or cash).

• This is open for non-butches as well, as long as you please respect the community and kaupapa.

• No SWERFs, No TERFs.
