A Little Chip, A Safer Trip Home!

Animal Aid and Monash Council are hosting a low-cost microchipping event for cats.

A tiny microchip can make a big difference in helping your cat find their way home. If your cat wanders, vets and shelters can scan their permanent identification to help reunite you.

Microchipping costs just $20 and is carried out by a qualified vet nurse—a small step today for greater peace of mind tomorrow.

This clinic is for cats only. For dog microchipping, please book our cat-only clinic on 23 November (click here!)

ELIGIBILITY

This event is for residents of the City of Monash. If you have questions about your cat’s council registration, speak with a customer experience representative at the event.

APPOINTMENTS

  • Book online in advance. Spaces are limited.

  • Book one ticket per cat. Maximum two cats per person.

  • Bring your cat in a sturdy, secure carrier. Keep them inside until a staff member asks you to bring them out. A carrier with a removable top can make handling easier. Please follow the vet nurse’s instructions.

  • Attend only if you and your cat are healthy and well.

  • Humanitix booking fees are non-refundable.

WE CAN ALSO HELP WITH

  • Information about desexing options - we can also help to navigate any other pet health concerns

Book your spot today!

Important Notes:

  • Please follow staff instructions throughout your visit.

  • Wait in line and keep your cat securely contained in their carrier.

  • Maintain distance between cats where possible.

  • Follow all safety and handling guidance.

  • Cats from the same household may be kept together only if staff confirm it’s safe.

If your cat has found veterinary visits very stressful before, or has shown reactive or defensive behaviour during handling, please let us know beforehand at admin@animalaid.org.au.

Knowing about your cat’s history will help us plan the appointment and reduce their stress.

If your cat becomes too distressed to be handled safely, the microchip won’t be implanted at that appointment. Our vet nurse can advise you on next steps.

Animal Aid can also provide information about desexing. Please speak with the vet nurse at your appointment.
Note: Desexing is arranged by appointment at our Coldstream facility.
