2023 Special Olympics Victoria State Games - MIE Athlete Entry
Event description
This year SOV is holding state competitions for all sports, over ONE single weekend - 1st & 2nd July!
OPENING CEREMONY: 9:00am Saturday 1st July at Stadium - 04 Terry Vickerman Bldg, 65 Berwick-Cranbourne Rd, Cranbourne East

- Athletes to marshal outside of the Casey Stadium at 8.30 – 8.45 am (there will be SO volunteers to help)
- Torch Run athletes will be collected by SO volunteers 8.30 (please remember to be in your club uniform)
- Don’t forget to bring your drink bottle with you
DRESS
Athletes must dress in their MIE sport (competition) uniform.
FEES
Thanks to fundraising efforts, Melbourne Inner East will subsidise each athlete $10 towards their entry fee, making the State Game fees for MIE athletes as follows:
• Athletics, Basketball, Bocce, Football (Soccer), Gymnastics, Swimming & Tennis: $15 (reduced from $25)
• Bowling (Tenpin): $15 for one day; $25 for both days (reduced from $40)

ENTRY REQUIREMENT - The criteria for entering into State Games is:
- Athletes must be registered with Special Olympics in 2023
- Athletes must have competed at a club games as a registered athlete within the year leading up to the State Games
- Athletes must be competent to do the sport (it is SOV's duty of care for the athlete)
- All entered times/distances/score must be the athlete's best in the previous 12 months (1 July 2022 – 30 June 2023)
