2023 WA Landcare Network Annual Gathering

Join the WA Landcare Network for its 2023 Annual Network Gathering on Friday 8 December 2023 at the Cockburn Wetlands Centre.  

'40 Years of Transformation - What's Next for Landcare?' will be all day forum reflecting on the achievements of the last 40 years of Landcare in Western Australia and exploring what the the future of community landcare might look like across four topic areas - Science, Engagement, Partnership and Impact.

The day will include opportunities for questions, discussion and networking about key elements of successful community landcare into the future. 

We will finish the day with a Celebratory Sundowner to launch the inaugural WA Landcarers' Hall of Fame celebrating our first group of inductees and their achievements over 40 years of Landcare in WA. Please register separately for this event below.

The Forum Program will include:

• Welcome to Country 
• Keynote address by Dr Louise Duxbury, Chair National Landcare Network on '40 Years of Transformation - What's Next for Landcare?'
  
• Keynote address by Sylvia Leighton, National Landcare Award Winner on 'Taking a Wholistic Approach to Land Stewardship'
• Keynote address by Rosie Rayns, Communications and Campaigns Manager, National Landcare Network  - 'The importance of communications in uniting, inspiring and promoting the community landcare movement in WA'
• WA Landcare Network AGM - WALN Achievements and the Year Ahead
• Presentations by a raft of landcare member groups and individuals about what community landcare should be working towards in four key topic areas Science, Engagement, Partnerships and Impact.
• Plenary - So What's Next for Landcare?
  
• Opportunity for questions, discussion and networking.

Free parking is available at the Cockburn Wetlands Centre but we encourage you to carpool where possible. Registrations will commence at 9.00 am with tea and coffee available. Forum proceedings will kick off at 9.30 am sharp. Please bring along your personal water bottle. Water stations are available around the centre. Landcare Groups are invited to bring along banners and promotional information for display on the day. Some table space will be available for this purpose but no display boards.

Inaugural WA Landcarers' Hall of Fame Celebratory Sundowner
Friday 8 December 2023 5.00 - 7.30 pm

Why not make it a day to remember and join the WA Landcare Network for the launch of the Inaugural WA Landcarers' Hall of Fame.
Drinks and canapés will be served in the Education Room at the Cockburn Wetlands Centre overlooking the centre's wetland while we celebrate and honour our first group of Hall of Fame inductees and their achievements over 40 years of Landcare in WA.
