Event description
PUBLIC TICKET ALLOCATION EXHAUSTED, WAITLIST IS ACTIVATED FOR THIS YEAR'S FERRYTHON.
Ferrython is back for Australia Day 2025 as part of Harbourfest on Sydney Harbour. A crowd favourite, Ferrython sees thousands of spectators line the shores of Sydney Harbour to cheer on four of the city’s iconic Emerald Class ferries as they compete for honours in a race across the harbour.
For Australia Day 2025 Ferrython, Destination NSW has invited NSW emergency service organisations to be our guests of honour on board the four vessels participating in the Ferrython to thank and celebrate our emergency services personnel for their work in communities across New South Wales.
The ferries taking part in 2025 are May Gibbs, Catherine Hamlin, Bungaree and Pemulwuy each boat will be brightly dressed in honour of their namesake.
The race will commence at the Sydney Harbour Bridge, circling around Fort Denison twice before a final sprint to the tugboat finish line at the Sydney Opera House. Following the Ferrython, guests will be treated to a lap of honour around Circular Quay led by the race winner whilst previewing the spectacular entries in the 2025 Harbour Parade.
The event will proceed rain or shine, so guests are advised to dress appropriately for the weather on the day.Â
