About the event
Professor Ruth Dill-Macky

We are delighted to welcome distinguished alumna Professor Ruth Dill-Macky (1981 – 1983) as the guest speaker for the inaugural Helen McBride Annual Lecture.

A global leader in plant pathology, Professor Dill-Macky has dedicated her career to combating devastating crop diseases that threaten global food security. Based at the University of Minnesota, she leads cutting-edge research on cereal crop diseases such as Fusarium Head Blight and Bacterial Leaf Streak and currently serves as Co-Chair of the United States Wheat and Barley Scab Initiative.

In her keynote address, Microscopic Challenges, Global Impact: Defending the World’s Cereal Crops against Microbial Adversaries, Professor Dill-Macky will explore how invisible pathogens endanger the world’s most vital crops – and how scientific innovation, international collaboration, and mentorship are critical to securing the future of agriculture.

Join us for this compelling evening of insight, inspiration and global perspective.
