    Event description

Your child is invited to come and make their very own lantern with Meg.

As part of her Steiner handwork teacher training course, Meg is teaching a different kind of lantern to each grade, from First to Eighth. Some grades will make a paper lantern, others will make a metal lantern; there will also be wood lanterns, beeswax lanterns and even stained glass lanterns! All lantern makers will be invited to attend special night-time exhibition on Friday 23rd June to share their lantern creations and see how they look lit up by candlelight. This exhibition is optional to attend but promises to be unforgettable! (like our Playgroup Winter Festival!)

Each project has been carefully planned to relate to the Steiner/Waldorf curriculum for each grade and to meet each grade level's developmental stage. Therefore, please only book in for the workshop that matches your child's current grade in school, or their age-based equivalent if homeschooling.

The workshop will go for approximately one hour. You can expect to have a finished lantern at the end.

A parent/guardian is required to remain on-site during the workshop. If there is a specific way that your child may need support or assistance please let's have a chat in advance. Parents will be offered refreshments and a small, optional craft project to work on independently while their child is occupied with lantern making.

By purchasing a ticket to the workshop, you give implied consent to Meg or her delegate to take photographs of your child and their lantern project (in progress and completed), and for these to be used by Meg for the purposes of her assignment (electronically-submitted written report, online slide presentation and recording of same available to current staff and students of Waldorf Handwork Educators.)
