3rd Annual DASHI DAQ-OFF Cocktail Competition - SHIPWRECKED
Event description
DASHI invites our community and industry to come together once again, hosting an unforgettable cocktail competition starring "The Daq," aka the daiquiri, in the Daiquiri capital of the US - SATX - (basic formula 2:1:1 -- 2 parts rum, 1 part sweet, 1 part sour). Bartender teams of two representing Texas’ best spirits programs will compete for the title of "Daq Grandmaster", the Heavyweight DAQ Treasure Belt, and $200 purse in this Coliseum-style interactive event that seeks to challenge professional bartenders in speed, accuracy, creativity, taste and showmanship through three competition events: Speed [technical], Judges Choice [technical + artistic], People Choice [artistic + volume].
Sponsored by Flor de Caña and Ron Colón Salvadoreño, competing teams will have an array of rum styles to wow judges and the audience. The throwdown will be MC’d by master bartender and industry leader Michael Neff of Bar Loretta.
The daq has a unique industry culture in SATX, known as “Slam Antonio”. Daqs are more than just three ingredients – the best know how to implement rum expressions and creative fusions to elicite depth within the daq cocktail.
Don’t miss this rock concert-style event equipped with world-class Sichuanese cuisine from the amazing Grand Master Chefs at DASHI and world-class cocktails from Texas’ most exciting programs. Teams will be put to the test to throw down and create the best daq in Texas with all eye’s watching.
