Want to swing dance, but smooth? 4 Step Swing is the answer!

4 Step Swing is a smooth social partner dance to jazz and big band music from the 30s and 40s, as well as Rock N Roll from the 50s and 60s. Four steps, slow-slow-quick-quick, and you'll be dancing it on your first night! Once you've got the basics, the Extension class adds swing kicks and more traditional swing movement, still smooth and stretchy.

Never danced? Perfect. The Foundation class is for complete beginners, with no experience needed. You don't need to bring a partner. We rotate throughout the class, so you'll dance with everyone. And you choose your role: Lead, Follow or Switch. Nobody's given a role because of their gender.

Start the night with dinner at The Vic. It's the easiest way to meet everyone before you dance, because it's hard to chat over music when you're changing partners every few minutes. Dinner is optional, and meals and drinks are at your own cost.

Wear something comfortable you can move in, and shoes that let you pivot (smooth soles beat grippy runners). Bring a water bottle, and deodorant if you need it. Your partners will thank you.

Price

$25 per class night. One ticket gets you your class and an hour of social dancing.
