4-week Calm-Abiding Meditation Course
Come along and meditate in March! Learn the art of Calm-Abiding Meditation, which is a simple technique using the breath and posture, to bring calmness and stillness to the mind. You will be amazed that a simple practice can bring great benefit to your life.
The course will be facilitated by Rachel O'Rourke, who has over 15 years of experience in teaching meditation and the study of Buddhism. Rachel was trained as a Meditation Teacher at the Sakya International Buddhist Academy in Victoria, Australia and has undertaken a number of meditation retreats and teachings in both Australia and overseas.
After studying and teaching with the Tibetan Buddhist Society of Canberra (TBSC) for over 10 years, Rachel moved to the Central Coast two years ago and has become part of the Central Coast Meditation Centre, which is a sister centre to the TBSC.
Rachel will expertly guide you over the four weeks to set up a simple practice you can do at home or anywhere, as well as teaching you about the philosophy behind meditation and how to apply it in everyday life.
This course is suitable for beginners, as well as those who have meditated before and wish to deepen their practice. You don't need to be a Buddhist or religious to meditate; everyone is welcome. Chairs are provided. If you prefer to sit on a cushion, please bring one along.
Bookings are essential, and it is recommended to come along for the four weeks to gain the most from the course. If you wish to try out one session, or can't make it to all, you are welcome to pay $20 per casual session. Please contact Rachel on 0438 617 936 to book in for a casual session.
