5 Elements- Hatha Vinyasa Flow
Description
Welcome to our Monday evening Hatha Vinyasa Flow class.
Come and unwind from your day and earth yourself in the ancient wisdoms of yoga where class themes will reflect the season & Traditional Chinese Medicine's 5 Element Theory.
Move into stillness within and rejuvenate your energy, let go and flow with a balanced practice. This class will incorporate dynamic movement on the mat with connection to bandha and breath, winding down with calming pranayama and relaxation for a good nights sleep.
The barn is an intimate setting with limited spots and can be fresh, as it's a barn with drafts, a concrete floor (with mats) and has one source of heating- the wood heater (when lit!).
Please prepare yourself with your warm, cosy, comfortable clothing, a drink bottle, and anything else of comfort to you.
Donate on the day: A suggested $5-$10 cash donation for class, if you can afford it, can be left in the donation box on the desk. There is an option to donate via humanitix here, if you prefer.
FAQs
- Do you have yoga mats?
Yes we do have some very basic mats. For your comfort, and if you have your own mat, we'd suggest you bring it along to give more padding for the concrete barn floor we practice on.
- Where is the parking?
You can drive into Creekside and park in the drive area. However, if it's looking a bit full, you'll find some spots further up the road to pull to the side. If you enjoy a walk to and from yoga it's suggested that the Woodbridge oval is a lovely spot to start off from as it's a short 5-10 minute stroll to Creekside from there (with lots of parking).
- Do you provide blankets?
Yes we have a small range of 8 blankets, but as the mats, if you prefer your own, bring it along.
- What other props do you have?
We have both heavy and light weighted blocks to support postures; straps; and a small range of bolsters (8).
- Is there a bathroom?
Yes of course, we have toilet facilities, a bathroom on site.
- Do you filter your water?
The water at Creekside is unfiltered tank water, and so if you prefer yours filtered, please fill up your drink bottle before coming.
- Is the yoga for people who have never done a yoga class?
Beginners are welcome to join.
This is not a step by step or progressive beginners class, however you will be supported to move with the group if yoga is completely new to you- come and try!
- How much is a class?
If you are able to afford a small cash contribution on the day, please bring the right change with a suggested $5-$10 donation for class (donation box at the front door).
- When should I arrive?
We will be ready to receive you 20 minutes before class. Please try and arrive at least 5 minutes before class starts, to settle in, and 10-15 minutes earlier if this is your first time visiting.
