A conversation with Chatib Basri. Indonesia’s middle class: From comfort to discomfort zone
The Arndt-Corden Department of Economics and ANU Indonesia Project are delighted to announce that Dr Chatib Basri, Chairman of the PT Bank Mandiri and former Finance Minister of the Republic of Indonesia, will visit the ANU to deliver a dialogue with our ANU Indonesia Project community.
Dr Chatib Basri will provide insightful reflections on Indonesian economic development and how the recent decline of middle class’ purchasing power has affected the overall economy and called for a review of social protection policies. We look forward to his valuable contributions and the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions on these critical topics.
