Sat, 18 Oct, 9:30am - 5:30pm AEDT

Event description

Immerse yourself in a day or join us for just one of the 2 sessions of weaving baskets using natural plant fibres.

In our morning session (9:30am - 1pm) you will complete a totally functional and practical basket for shopping, collecting, storing and more.

Zimmi harvests the invasive Cats Claw Creeper (dolichandra unguis) for you to add your creative spirit.  This is a very satisfying basket to weave as you get to chose how you want to express and explore with the technique and material.

The afternoon session (1pm-4:30pm) is also a Random Weave but used in a very different way for a very different styled basket and a very different material. We will transform the beautifully textured Piccabeen Palm to created a sculptural basket that you can tweak in various ways resulting in whimsical, nesty or functional basket.

If you do join both classes, you will not feel like you are repeating yourself....they are unique baskets and the technique will be used very differently

Zimmi will take you step by step through the Random Weave Technique so that everyone walks away with a completed basket that can be used  for so many situations.

An Early bird price is available until 20th September Lunch, morning and afternoon tea will be provided.
