Event description

To celebrate Relics: A New World Rises, join Helen and Thomas from Helen’s Mini Worlds to create a living world for your very own LEGO® mini-fig in this hands on workshop designed specifically for teens.

In this one-hour workshop you will get your hands dirty creating a tiny living terrarium world in a 250ml jar. Along the way Helen, who has a science degree and a passion for nature, will guide you through the science of ecosystems. You will not only take home your very own terrarium world (complete with LEGO® mini-fig inhabitant), but also all the information you need to care for it and a wealth of new knowledge about the natural world.

This is the perfect mix of science and creativity!

What to bring:

All materials are provided, you may wish to bring a bag or box to safely transport your completed terrarium.

Important notes:

This workshop is 13 to 17-year-olds only. For the 7-13 year old event, please click here

This is workshop could get messy. Please dress accordingly.

No food is allowed in the workshop – water in a bottle with a lid is recommended (there will be a refill station provided).

As your terrarium contains a living ecosystem, you will not be able to bring it through the Museum galleries once complete. If you wish to visit the museum or Relics: A New World Rises, please do so prior to the workshop, or plan for a return visit.

Participants are welcome to attend on their own, or with an accompanying adult. All participants will be signed in and out of the workshop by either a nominated adult or a Museum staff member. Accompanying adults are not participants and do not require a ticket.
