A New Generation of Black Voices

Together we are building towards a more just and equitable future, where Black lives are truly valued and respected. Join Brown Hope and the Oregon Coalition of Black Trade Unionists in kicking off Black History Month with a special panel on February 5th called "A New Generation of Black Voices." 

This event is dedicated to amplifying the voices of younger racial justice activists as we strive for an inclusive and intergenerational justice movement. Topics will include finding courage in the face of authoritarianism and white supremacy, supporting frontline communities through grassroots solutions like mutual aid, and effective strategies to create long term political change.

This conversation will feature a panel of local Black leaders, including:

• ShaToyia Bentley, Vice-Chair of the Mt. Hood Community College School Board

• Vince Jones–Dixon, Multnomah County Commissioner, District 4

• AJ McCreary, Co-founder and Executive Director, Equitable Giving Circle

• cameron whitten, Founder and CEO, Brown Hope

• Travis Nelson, Oregon State Representative for HD 44

This event is free and open to the public and light refreshments are included. Doors open at 5:30pm and the program starts promptly at 6pm.
