Beloved by bartenders far and wide, Old Overholt has been known as one of the best "bang for your buck" bottles for years. This year, the Overholt family is getting one bottle bigger. A Overholt Monongahela Mash Straight Rye Whiskey features a class Pennsylvania style Monongahela Mash using no corn what-so-ever. Centuries ago, farmer-distillers in the Monongahela Valley cultivated a rye that became the first American Whiskey, renowned for a big robust flavor with notes of warm spice. This rye whiskey is made of 80% rye grain and 20% soft malted barley for balance and non-chill filtered for a robust finish.
We want to take you through the Overholt journey from its founding in 1810 to present day. To do that, we will be showcasing Overholt two ways. Each ticket comes with-
- 3 neats pours to highlight the boldness of Pennsylvanian whiskey: Old Overholt Bonded, Old Overholt 114, and the new A Overholt.
- 3 cocktail samples to show versatility: Inverted black manhattan, split base sazerac, and a Naked & Famous riff
- 1 Old Overholt tee shirt
This event is going to be a little more casual than our standard Whiskey Club format. Buying a ticket to this event guarantees that we will have this flight experience available for you, but you can choose whatever time you want to come in that night. For the first few hours, we will host Beam Suntory Specialist, Robbie Cline, to provide stories, anecdotes, and tell us how the F*@$ we are supposed to pronounce Monongahela.
