Alibi Whiskey Club ft. Old Forester
Event description
Boasting titles such as the first bottled whiskey in America, the only bourbon sold by the same company before, during and after prohibition, and the only downtown distillery housing its own cooperage, it is little wonder why Old Forester is regarded as one of the greatest American distilleries.
The line up for this tasting is a true double feature. Not only are we going to reserve the 24th edition of the famed Old Forester Birthday Bourbon for our devoted whiskey club family, we are also going to be rolling out the newest, and in our opinion greatest, whiskey release this spring, Old Forester 1924.
During Prohibition, more than 200 distilleries were forced to close. Old Forester, however, continued operations because the federal government issued us one of six medicinal licenses. In 1924, Old Forester acquired barrels from closed distillers, with different mash bills, and bottled that liquid as Old Forester. The Old Forester 1924 release commemorates that moment in time.
To guide us through the lore and legend of such a great distillery, we will have Brown-Forman big wig Whiskey Pete back for another whiskey tasting adventure.
