Description

A Liminalis space to pause, to feel what is alive, and to remember that presence — with yourself, and in the company of others — is its own kind of medicine.

INTRODUCTION

Rachel is back from Denver, USA, where she was facilitated this very workshop at the Sexual Health Annual Conference. Now she’s bringing it home to the FlourMill for Sydney!

A Taste of Tantra: Arousal, Awareness & Self-Pleasure as Embodied Presence is a 3.5-hour experiential introduction to tantra through breath, presence and connection. There’s no goal, no performance and nowhere to get to. Instead, we slow down, attune to sensation and meet whatever is alive in the body, whether that’s pleasure, a giggle, stillness or resistance, as part of the practice.

THE FOCUS

  • Tantra as presence, not performance

  • Sexual energy as life force and creative energy

  • Auric breath, sound and sensing the subtle body

  • Self-pleasure as presence with sensation, not a destination

  • Embodied consent and boundaries

  • Shared breath and the space between two people

  • How breath and awareness regulate the nervous system, a gift for anyone who works with people

THE JOURNEY

Foundations. We begin with some gentle learning, using a brief PowerPoint to go a little deeper into what this work means.

Connection to self. Through breath, sound and awareness, we come back into the body and meet what is alive there.

Connection to the room. We move to music, feel our field among other bodies and practice embodied consent and boundaries. What do your yes, your no and your maybe actually feel like? These are life skills that change how you show up in love, in work and in every relationship.

Connection to another, if you choose. Gentle partnered practices of shared breath and presence. You’re welcome to practice solo or in a amended configuration

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • A mix of learning and experience. There’s some short teaching with slides, but most of the workshop is experiential: breath, sound, movement, music and gentle practices.

  • You stay in choice the whole time. Every practice is an invitation. You can join in, adapt it, watch, rest or step out at any time, with no need to explain.

  • Fully clothed throughout. There’s no nudity. Self-touch is your own and optional, and any partnered touch is optional and limited to hands and forearms.

  • Partnering is optional. Pairings are never gendered, and there’s always a way to practise solo.

  • Movement to music. There’ll be time to walk, sway, shake or dance, however your body wants to move.

  • Sound and breath. We’ll use breath and voice to deepen awareness. It may feel unfamiliar at first, and that’s normal.

  • Whatever arises is welcome. People sometimes feel joy, laughter, tenderness, emotion or nothing much at all. All of it is part of the practice.

  • A break in the middle. There’s a short break with light refreshments and snacks.

  • A gentle close. We finish with integration and a share circle. Sharing is optional, and one word is plenty.

What to bring: Comfortable clothes you can move in, a water bottle and your own snack if you’d like it. Feel free to bring anything else that helps you feel comfortable.

WHO IS THIS FOR
This is a beginner-level workshop, open to all. You don’t need any experience with tantra, embodiment or partnered practice.

Practitioners, therapists, coaches and bodyworkers will also leave with simple breath and awareness tools to use with clients, tools that support regulation and connection without touch or nudity.

*** Come by yourself, with a friend, a partner or partners.
*** You’re welcome to practice solo the whole way through.

INCLUSION & ACCESSIBILITY
This is not a gendered experience. We welcome people of all genders, sexualities and identities, and we explicitly welcome our LGBTQIA2+ community. No exercise relies on gendered or heterosexual pairings.

This space is mindful of those of us who are neurodivergent, or whose body, sexuality or identity is different from others’. Every practice can be adapted. You can sit, stand, lie down, move or stay still, and you can take part in whatever way works for your body. All physical ability levels are welcome. If there’s anything that would help you feel more comfortable or able to take part, please let Rachel know before the day.

SAFETY & CONSENT
There is no pressure to take part in any exercise that doesn’t feel right for you. Nothing asks you to go further than your own yes, and every no gets a thank you.

Please be mindful of your mental, physical and emotional capacity to enter this space. Rachel is a trauma-informed practitioner, but this is not a 1:1 container or a therapy space. If you’d like to discuss whether this workshop is right for you, email Rachel at info@liminalis.co

This is a sober, drug-free event, with non-alcoholic drinks only.

ABOUT YOUR FACILITATOR

Rachel is a Process-Oriented Psychotherapist, somatic sexologist, and tantrika bridging clinical practice and conscious sexuality. Her work integrates Processwork, nervous system science, and embodied approaches drawn from tantra and somatic therapy to support individuals and couples navigating trauma, intimacy, and relational dynamics.

Bringing deep lived experience to her work, Rachel honours the intelligence of the body, the resilience of the nervous system, and the power of erotic expression as a pathway to healing. She supports individuals, couples, and groups to reconnect with their bodies, desires, and inner truth through practices that integrate breath, movement, self-pleasure, and relational awareness — always grounded in compassion, consent, and respect for each person's unique pace and story.

As co-creator of Eden Events — a living garden of eros, pleasure, and presence — and Taboo Festival Sydney, Rachel has built some of Australia's most beloved containers for conscious erotic exploration, including successful Temples, workshops, and retreats across multiple states. She recently facilitated at Taste of Love Festival Sydney, and has spoken on stage and at festivals across Australia and the United States.

She is also the founder of Liminalis School of Relational Arts, currently launching its flagship offering: the Self-Pleasure Modality™ — a groundbreaking certification training that is redefining how practitioners engage with pleasure, the body, and the erotic field as instruments of healing.

Whether working with clients, facilitating group spaces, or speaking on stage, she meets people at the edge of their becoming — with curiosity, care, and radical presence.
