Join us at the Petersham Bowling Club to celebrate the triumphant life of the late, great Scotty Nash (Asteroid B6-12, Brother Brick, Carrie Phillis and the Downtown Three, Rangers of the Universe) who sadly lost his 20+ year tussle with brain cancer last December.
Many will remember the commanding and all-encompassing sight of Scotty Nash standing on stage, with his low hung Fender bass, staring towards the crowd with that snickering grin, and telepathically informing the crowd: “I’m up here layin’ down the groove and you’re gonna pay attention!”. Others will remember him as a fellow punter, a lover of all kinds of music and a great supporter of his mates. His was always a face you’d be happy to see in the crowd.
In tribute to Scotty – the man and the musician - former bandmates and great mates will play some of Scotty’s favourites tunes and tell a few stories in between.
Don’t miss the one and only Sydney show of Johnny Casino and the Secrets (Mick Evans and Cris Wilson)!

At the request of his family and just as he would have wanted it, proceeds from the day including a massive raffle draw, will go to The Vibe – a music and creative studio in Newcastle that was a big part of Scotty’s life in his last couple of years. The Vibe and its incredible people (led by former Screaming Jets guitarist and all-round lovely guy, Grant Walmsley) were a gift to Scotty at a really difficult time in his life. He, like all who walk through the doors at The Vibe, connected through their love of music, felt valued, purposeful and supported. The Vibe specialise in intellectual & /or acquired brain injury support, through creative endeavours in an inclusive environment. It’s a no BS outfit that runs on love and a bit of client NDIS funding, so whatever we raise in Scotty’s name will be put to great use. Let’s make him proud.
