A Tribute To Thelonious Monk With The Richard Brider Quartet

Swing into your next week with this authentic tribute to the delightful and complex music of the great Thelonious Monk. Consisting of two sets of music, the first set being all well-known Monk compositions and the second being jazz standards recorded by Monk himself. This performance will pay homage to both Monk's work with Miles Davis as well as his quartet he maintained for over 10 years featuring Charlie Rouse on tenor saxophone.
Richard Brider is a 24-year-old Brisbane based jazz pianist currently in his third and final year at the Jazz Music Institute. Having a keen interest in a wide variety of genres of jazz, Richard has spent much of the semester studying the intricacies of Monk's compositions.
