A+W▪︎NZ Wikipedia Walking Tour

We ‘re please to welcome the Wikipedia Walking Tour and Edit-a- thon for 2024. The two-part event will be running over two days, the walking tour on Saturday and the edit-a-thon on Sunday. 

Women still make up less than 20% of biographies on wikipedia, and the New Zealand Women in Architecture WikiProject aims to fill the gaps in the digital realm and increase visibility of prolific female Architects. Originally inspired by Making Space, we will be continuing last year’s work to increase articles about women and non-binary people who work in architecture and related fields in or from Aotearoa New Zealand.

Walking Tour on Saturday 21st:

The walking tour will be focused around the Wynyard Quarter and take you to 4 locations. Free license photos and images are a challenging aspect to filling out wikipedia articles. Attendees will be asked to take photos during the walking tour and upload them to WikiComms to contribute to the online database! Meet at the Wynyard Central Residential at 10am, we will finish our our at the WAM Auckland Offices at 12:00pm for refreshments and meet at their main boardroom for a photo uploading session until 14:00pm.
