ACT Tree Protection Workshop
Event description
Learn how you can help protect ACT's precious urban trees under the new Urban Forest Act (ACT)!
Living in a leafy, tree-filled community like Canberra gives us a range of benefits.
Trees are an integral part of our neighbourhoods. Yet, conflicts about trees can and do arise.
Come along to our free, one-hour workshop and hear how you can protect trees on both leased and public land under the new Urban Forest Act. Learn:
- what you can do to protect a tree
- what actions you can take if you suspect a protected tree is being damaged or impacted upon unlawfully
- what can happen if someone wants to damage or impact a protected tree on your property, and
- what decisions about protected trees can be reviewed, either internally or by the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT)
When: 25 June 2024 6.30-7.30pm
Where: ACT Conservation Council
