Event description

EXTRA WORKSHOP

Due to popular demand and a high number on the wait list for our upcoming Boundary Setting and Protective Behaviours workshop, we have scheduled an extra one-off event to avoid disappointment.

Social distance, personal space and social/sexual concepts are extremely important life skills for everyone to know. At the same time, they are not easy skills to teach and can be even more difficult to teach to people with disability.

This workshop introduces the two fundamental messages of Protective Behaviours and strategies to support teaching them.

One of these strategies includes the Social Circle Concept (SCC). SCC is an educational strategy that assists people to understand social, physical and emotional distances. SCC was developed to give people with disabilities an understanding of personal boundaries which is an essential element of Protective Behaviours.

Our workshops are for parents, carers, students, teachers and health professionals. There is a limit of 3 participants from the same organisation.

Please note:  This workshop is being provided as an additional offer outside of our usual workshop schedule. As it does not fit under our funding from the Department of Heath, we are unable to provide full catering for this workshop. Tea, coffee and a light morning tea will be provided. Please BYO lunch.
