    Event description

Adult Workshop: Inspire Your Creative Flow with the Art of Tai Chi

Cultivate your creativity by connecting with tai chi and nature. You’ll learn soothing tai chi, the charming delights of leaf rubbing and the peaceful absorption of nature journaling. Weather dependent, you will explore in nature to forage your own materials and be inspired to create your own earth art/mandalas.  This workshop is open to adults who want to grow their creative flow. Beginners welcome.

Join your tutor Jocelyn Watkin as she combines the calming tranquility of tai chi and qigong with mindfulness-based art to help people to embrace and develop their own creativity, to reduce stress and to improve their well-being.

Jocelyn is a qualified school teacher (now retired), who majored in art and English literature as part of her training. She has been doing tai chi and qigong (pronounced chee-going, which is the breathing side of tai chi) for over 20 years.  Jocelyn completed her instructor qualifications eight years ago because she wanted to share the amazing health and well-being benefits of tai chi and qigong with others and now we are very lucky to have Auckland based Jocelyn share her skills with us. This workshop will be the perfect way to shake off the winter gloom and revitalise your spirit for the coming spring.

All materials are supplied. BYO Lunch and drink bottle

Workshop is $65 per person (+ booking fees of $2.25 apply) - Running Sunday 22nd September 10:30-4pm. Workshop will take place at the Ōtorohanga Museum, 15 Kakamutu Street, Ōtorohanga
