Description

Seitan is a plant-based protein source made from vital wheat gluten. Its ‘meat-y’ texture and affordability to create at home makes it a versatile option for everyday meals, whether you are plant-based or not!

This is a 2-hour workshop by Chef Joshua Taylor-Keown built to expand your ideas around alternative plant-based protein sources and their accessibility to a home kitchen.

What you will learn:

  • Making Seitan from start to finish, including working with vital wheat gluten, and developing texture without any specialist equipment.

  • Transforming the Seitan into a delicious and nutritious meal you can replicate easily at home for you, your flatmates or your whānau.

  • Understanding different ways to prepare and store the Seitan to make your weekly meals better, cheaper and easier to put together.
