Altru Charity Outreach Festival Melbourne - VOLUNTEER

Altru is a charity redefining how society addresses social inequality. With an all-volunteer team and a 0% admin model, every dollar contributed goes directly into delivering measurable impact.

Our intention is to move awareness into action. Through our annual free outreach Altru Festival, we provide immediate, onsite access to essential services for people facing hardship. The event is a vibrant blend of music, connection, health services, job opportunities, and festival fun—a day to belong and celebrate the human beyond their adversity. Each guest is paired with a volunteer guide, forming meaningful connections designed to result in lasting change.

Our objective is to create a transformative experience for both guests and volunteers—one that fosters positive action, self-value, opportunity, and advocacy.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a family-friendly, dry event. Rules of entry apply to both guests and volunteers to ensure a fun and safe environment.

Event Schedule:

• Bump-in starts: 7 AM
• Setting up stations: 8 AM
• Volunteer Induction & Welcome: 11 AM
• Guests arrive: 12 PM – Event ends at 4 PM

Volunteer Expectations:

By signing up for a volunteer shift at Altru Fest, (I) understand that while the festival is an amazing experience & a lot of fun, (I) am here to to be of service. (I) agree to fulfill all duties associated with the volunteer role (I) have signed up for, and will not leave my shift early or wander around the Festival collecting giveaways for myself. (I) understand if (I) am found to be not fulfilling my volunteer role I may be asked to leave.

Volunteer Requirements:

• Volunteer induction info will be emailed a week prior to event. You agree that your participation at Altru Fest is dependent upon you carefully reading all induction information provided to you, in advance.

• Check-In at the Volunteer Gate on the date of event. You will also need to Check-Out for your shift. In order to be eligible to sign up for Altru Charity events you will need to stay for your entire shift & Check-Out when it’s completed.

• Please be respectful of our Festival guests, and do not take photographs of anyone without their permission.

• You agree to wear closed-toe shoes and to dress in a manner that is respectful, neat and sun-safe.
