Event description
Altru hosts an annual outreach activation event "Altru Festival". It is an innovative action of effective tangible altruism.
Our intention is to move awareness into Action. Through our annual Altru Festival, we offer immediate, onsite access to essential services. We are advocating for poverty-living, marginalized and at risk youth.
The event is a vibrant blend of music, mentorship, healthcare, job opportunities, and loads of festival fun. A day to belong and celebrate the human beyond their adversity.Each attendee is paired with a volunteer guide, forming meaningful human connections designed to result in lasting change.
Our objective is to create a transformative experience for both our guests & volunteers that promotes self-value, opportunity, and advocacy.
** PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A FAMILY FRIENDLY 'DRY' EVENT. RULES OF ENTRY APPLY TO BOTH GUEST AND VOLUNTEER TO ENSURE A FUN AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT.
Volunteer Expectations:
By signing up for a volunteer shift at Altru Fest, (I) understand that while the festival is an amazing experience & a lot of fun, (I) am here to to be of service. (I) agree to fulfill all duties associated with the volunteer role (I) have signed up for, and will not leave my shift early or wander around the Festival collecting giveaways for myself. (I) understand if (I) am found to be not fulfilling my volunteer role I may be asked to leave.
Volunteer Requirements:
• Volunteer induction info will be emailed a week prior to event.
• Check-In at the Volunteer Gate on the date of event. You will also need to Check-Out for your shift. In order to be eligible to sign up for Altru Charity events you will need to stay for your entire shift & Check-Out when it’s completed.
• Please be respectful of our Festival guests, and do not take photographs of anyone without their permission.
* You must be a registered volunteer to attend Altru Fest.
