An Evening of Irish and Australian Folk Music

Jimmy Crowley & Eve Telford are a folk duo based in Co. Cork. Their first album is of new arrangements of Child ballads learned from the singing of Irish Travellers, which was released in 2023. They also perform a variety of folk music, ranging from narrative ballads, parlour songs, and sean nós, as well as their own wide-ranging compositions. Their next project is Ambrosia, showcasing their original material. Jimmy Crowley has been a central figure in the Irish folk scene since the enthusiastic reception of his debut album The Boys of Fairhill in 1977. Fourteen albums later, he is constantly exploring new musical expressions. He has written a Celtic Utopian novel, Hy Brasil. He is soon to launch Life, an album of original material. Eve Telford is a folk singer, poet and short story writer. In her singing of traditional songs, one can sense her deep-seated connection to the old folk singers who have passed on. Her original songs and poems are inspired by the wellsprings of world mythology, indigenous stories, and the natural world. For Eve, the creation of song and poetry is a sacred act.

Christina Mimmocchi has forged a career as a songwriter, musician, choir-maker and event coordinator for over 25 years. She writes for her own solo projects, in collaboration with The Third Voice , PerSisters, Greg White ad for various community projects.

Kejafi play traditional folk and original music, celebrating the deep Australian connection to Scotland and Ireland. The Sydney-based Trio create an exciting and energetic sound with dual fiddles and octave mandolin.

Under 18s are welcome at the Petersham Bowling Club but must be accompanied by an adult.

Getting to The PBC! Access to the club and main stage is via 12 stairs at the front of the venue. We are not wheelchair accessible currently but we are working on it! There is free, untimed parking on the avenue and Brighton Street and drop off / pick up is available via our driveway.
