An introduction to oil painting - 5 week course - Bayley Arts - Highett
Event description
An introduction to oil painting
Have you ever wanted to try oil painting but don’t know where to start?
This 5-week comprehensive course is run fortnightly by skilled tutor and painter Margarita Riaikkenen. This course is designed for beginners wanting to explore the fundamentals of oil painting, and for those interested in developing their skills in this age-old medium.
Students will become familiar with all stages of traditional painting from how to select the right mediums, preparing to paint, studying tonal values and how to mix colours to develop their own ‘golden’ greys. Students will learn to create the illusion of a 3D subject onto a 2D surface by learning how to manipulate and play with light to describe a still life object.
No experience is needed.
