About the Presenter

Jenny Smith

Jenny has worked with marginalised and vulnerable people in aged care, disability services, mental health, youth work, and emergency services. She has also been actively involved in voluntary community service, particularly for organisations that focus on social justice and community building. Jenny practises Supported Decision Making as a key part of her extensive background as a disability advocate, supporting people to make their own decisions about their own lives. She does this by helping people to understand information, consider their options, and communicate their choices, based on the person’s own will, preferences, and values.

About OIL

Outback Independent Living (OIL) is the state-funded peak body for people with disability in Central West Queensland.

We work alongside communities and organisations to build local capability, strengthen systems, and improve outcomes - particularly in areas where access to services and training is limited.
