Event description

The APEN Roadshow is a series of workshops in a range of different locations offered to APEN members and other interested attendees.

The theme for this years’ Roadshow is Getting the most out of a mentoring relationship with the day based around the value of connection, sharing and learning from others.

Mentoring is something we all experience either formally or informally in our professional and personal lives so ensuring we have the skills and understanding of what makes a successful mentoring relationship will guarantee it’s a worthwhile experience with tangible outcome for both parties.

What you’ll take away from this workshop:

  • Understanding the role of a mentee and mentor
  • The difference between formal and informal mentoring
  • How to have constructive conversations and ask the right questions
  • The benefits of an effective mentoring relationship
  • Solving your mentoring challenges
  • The chance to network with other extension professionals in your local area

*Catering will be provided to attendees during this workshop.

Facilitator Ben Reeve:

Hi I’m Ben Reeve. I work with Meridian Agriculture as a Human Resources and Marketing Consultant. I mainly spend my time working with people who are passionate about developing their careers across the ag sector, be it training, mentoring, coaching individuals and groups; or working with businesses on people management and training programs.  I’ve been involved with some nationwide industry projects with Meat and Livestock Australia, Dairy Australia, Australian Wool Innovation, and various state governments. Prior to working with Meridian Ag, I have worked in marketing and advertising roles, event management and also the education sector. I’m exceptionally lucky to have this job, and I love what I do. Away from work, I love spending time with my wife Danielle (who is a family therapist) and children Ava (18) and Henry (14). Let’s face it, most of the time I’m a taxi driver for them! I love a wide variety of music, reading and I follow both AFL and soccer too closely.
