PARENT CONFERENCE  - What time should I arrive on 24 October?

Please arrive promptly for 9:00am for registration, networking and morning refreshments.No African or Another time on this one! 😊Strictly Parent Conference Time :- 9amWe have a full programme and want everyone to benefit from the entire day. The main conference programme begins at 9:00am, so please give yourself enough time to arrive, register and settle in.

PARENT CONFERENCE  - Will breakfast be provided?

A light grab-and-go breakfast/morning refreshment will be available during registration from 9:00am–9:30am, including pastries, muffins, biscuits, tea and coffee.Come early, grab something light and meet other delegates, parents, leaders before we begin!

PARENT CONFERENCE  - Can I bring my children?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We want parents to be able to participate without childcare becoming a barrier.Parents attending with children under 14 can access our dedicated children's activity area during the main conference.Children will enjoy a programme of age-appropriate activities that may include:Painting and creative artCalligraphyColouring and craftsGames and puzzlesReading and storytellingKindness and wellbeing activitiesCreative learning and supervised playActivities will be supported by qualified/appropriate child-minding personnel, with safeguarding arrangements in place.Parents remain responsible for following the children's provision registration and collection arrangements communicated by the conference team.Spaces may be limited, so please indicate during registration if you are bringing a child.

PARENT CONFERENCE  - Will food be available?

Accepted Answer

Yes.Food vendors will be available during the lunch break, offering a selection of meals at discounted/affordable rates for delegates and families.Food is purchased separately and is not included with your free conference ticket.Please check the APIC2026 website closer to the event for the food vendors, menus, dietary information and prices.

PARENT CONFERENCE  - Is APIC2026 free?

The main Parent conference, Youth Employability Workshop, Exhibition and Neurodiversity Summit are free to registered participants.

However, registration is essential because places—particularly for the Youth Employability Workshop—are limited.

PARENT CONFERENCE  - What if I do not speak fluent English or I am worried I may not understand the discussions?

Accepted Answer

Please don't let language be a barrier to attending APIC2026. We will provide FREE interpretation support, using a combination of interpreters and technology, with languages including Arabic, Soninke and other community languages based on demand.If you are attending with members of your community who require interpretation in a particular language, please let us know as soon as possible so we can explore adding that language to our interpretation provision.Contact us at info@afrikindness.orgEveryone deserves to be part of the conversation — in a language they can understand.

YOUTH EMPLOYABILITY WORKSHOP - Do young people need to bring a laptop?

Yes, please bring a laptop if you have one.Much of the workshop will be practical, so participants will be working directly on their CVs, LinkedIn profiles and other employability activities.Don't have a laptop? Don't worry.A limited number of laptops will be available for young people to use during the workshop. Please let the Afrikindness team know in advance if you require one so that we can plan appropriately.

YOUTH EMPLOYABILITY WORKSHOP - Does a parent need to attend with a young person?

For young participants attending as part of a family registration, we strongly encourage parents/carers to attend the Main Parent Conference taking place at the same venue.While your young person invests in their future, you can spend the day learning, connecting and accessing support through the Parent Conference.
