Create your own batik cloth, patterned with a simple technique for decorating textiles.. Cover parts of your cloth molten wax using metal stamps to make patterns. in this camp our stamps will be a variety of kitchen potato mashers from the teacher’s vast collection. Once patterned the material is dipped in dye. The wax acts as a barrier to color and when it is removed, with the heat of an iron, the pattern is revealed.
