Art on Saturdays: ‘Still Life’ with Valerie Crosse
Event description
Saturday 17, 24 February, and 2 March, 1–4PM
Enjoy three afternoons appreciating the art of ‘Still Life’ and develop your own painting while exploring different techniques and approaches.
Valerie will guide new and experienced artists through the stages of completing a still life and how this can be applied to other subjects and mediums. The journey will start with setting up a composition of small objects and doing test drawings using grey lead and coloured pencils, moving onto experimental techniques and effects using various mediums we’ll explore and emphasise tonal qualities. Putting all of this together, a final work will be created with the techniques we’ve been learning.
All materials are provided.
