Artist Trading Cards (ATCs)

Artist Trading Cards are small, collectible pieces of handmade art. Each card is 2.5x3.5" inches, the same size as a standard deck of playing cards. Artists may choose to trade their cards, send them as gifts, or keep them for inspiration or to commemorate special occasions.

We'll start with some samples and creative warmups before making our own collage-based ATCs. The focus will be on kickstarting creativity rather than making the perfect art collages. This activity is suitable for all experience levels, whether you're just interested in a fun night out or you're in need of a creative reset. Trading is optional, but welcome.

All materials are included, but feel free to bring your favorite papers/scraps, photos, and/or tiny embellishments to help make your ATCs more personal. We'll have a pigment-based (waterproof ink) printer handy for copying/printing pics to collage with.

This class is open to participants ages 16+. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE A WAIVER ON FILE. We will have hard copies available on site. Please also refer to our parking and accessibility information.

Instructor Bio:

Christy Matte is a lifelong artist, crafter, and maker with a diverse background that includes youth work, non-profits, consumer technology, public speaking, and freelance writing. She holds an M.Ed. in Technology in Education from Lesley University and has shared her joy for creative and technological pursuits with kids and adults from Manhattan to Manila. She launched Indigo Whimsy as a way to build a creative community, increase access to less common forms of art, and share her interests with others.
