Event description

Join our Arts Creative Lab and come explore drawing, painting, sculpting, and more to create wonderful original art.

Class meets for 5 weeks, every Wednesday 4pm-5:30pm, August 27, September 3, 10, 17 and 24, 2025.

Pack your imaginary suitcase and get ready for an exciting art journey across North America! In this creative and colorful art class, kids will explore the continent through the eyes of famous artists, iconic landmarks, breathtaking landscapes, and fun cultural symbols like cowboys and fast food!

Each week, young artists will discover a new part of North American culture and history—drawing inspiration from legendary artists like Jackson Pollock, Georgia O’Keeffe and Andy Warhol, painting dramatic landscapes like the colored rocks of Zion National Park or rock formations of Arches National Park, and having fun with pop art inspired by burgers, sodas, and more!

Kids will experiment with different art materials including paint, pastels, collage, or air dry clay as they create their own masterpieces. Along the way, they’ll learn about history, geography, and culture—all while having a blast!

Explore your creativity in this multi-media class, appropriate for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade.

Please dress for mess, as paint smudges may always be part of our fun art classes!  (we do provide an apron for class use).  All materials included.  Classes are in Bee Cave Arts Foundation gallery, in suite F160, across from H&M and Dillard's in the Hill Country Galleria.

Come learn with our fabulous instructor Petra!
Petra has lived on three continents, and this is reflected in her work. Images from Africa, the Middle East and Texas are recurring themes in her art. Her favorite medium is soft pastels, closely followed by mixed media and acrylics. Petra is still taking art courses, exploring new ways of expressing herself through her art. "I don't think I will ever stop learning - there is always room for improvement."
