SPEAKERS
Professor Roos will address the growing demand for ESG solutions and industry opportunities within the ASPiRE Initiative. He has worked with governments and enterprises across more than 50 countries. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Adelaide's Institute for Sustainability, Energy and Resources, with expertise in sustainable industry transformation. His research on green industry transformation and resource deployment systems provides frameworks for organizations navigating ESG requirements. Professor Roos has advised governments in Australia, Nordic countries, and Asia on maintaining economic competitiveness while meeting sustainability goals. In his presentation, Professor Roos will discuss how the ASPiRE Initiative can help organizations develop ESG solutions through collaborative partnerships between research, industry, and government—creating manufacturing environments that balance sustainability with human wellbeing in the Industry 5.0 context.
Dr Schläfer is the Engineering Manager R&D at LaserBond Limited. LaserBond provides the right material at the right spot. It develops application-oriented coating systems for wear and corrosion protection as well as dimensional restoration of parts and components utilising Laser Cladding (aka LMD – Laser Metal Deposition) and Thermal Spraying (LF-HVOF, HVAF, APS) techniques. Prior to this role, Dr Schläfer was Head of R&D at GTV Verschleißschutz GmbH in Luckenbach, Germany, and a Senior Engineer at the Institut für Oberflächentechnik (Surface Engineering Institute) in Aachen.
