Assessment for Learning Masterclass with Professor Helen Timperley
Event description
This two-part face-to-face event with Dr Helen Timperley is designed for educators and professional learning leaders seeking to maximise student learning through providing high quality feedback.
Part One: ‘Giving high quality feedback to students has one of the highest effect sizes in terms of making a difference to student outcomes. On the surface, it looks easy to do, but in reality it demands a mix of deep curriculum knowledge, inquiring into students’ understanding of the curriculum, and the features of high quality feedback. This session will unpack the contribution of each of these together with what it looks like in practice.’
Part Two: ‘What we know about giving feedback to students, underpins high quality feedback among colleagues. This second session will illustrate how these elements come together to promote peer professional learning through observations as teachers work together to identify what will make the most difference to the students for whom they have responsibility.’
