Gestalt Language Processing: Autism Webinar
Event description
There’s growing discussion around Gestalt Language Processing right now, but what does it mean, and why are so many people talking about it?
Autistic children learn language in many ways, for some that includes learning in “chunks” or scripts rather than word-by-word, a way of developing communication called Gestalt Language Processing (GLP). In this webinar, Frances Brenan from The Speech Tree will demystify GLP, showing how it’s not something strange or new, but simply another pathway to communication.
We’ll explore
What GLP really is (and isn’t)
Why it’s become such a ‘hot topic’
How to support your child’s language style in everyday life
What to ask your child’s therapists about best practice support
You’ll leave feeling more equipped to celebrate and support your child’s natural way of communicating, with practical strategies you can use day-to-day and a clearer sense of what good practice looks like when it comes to speech therapy.
