Pōwhiri - Welcome to Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Marae, followed by a Hīkoi around Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei papakāinga:
a Māori lead urban housing development for Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei hapu.
Visitors to congregate east of the marae waharoa, 59B Kitemoana Street at the end of Kupe Street, at 10am.
Pōwhiri lead by Wyllis Maihi of Ngāti Whātua.

Hīkoi led by architect James Whetter and landscape architect Claire O’Shaughnessy from Jasmax of the papakāinga master plan
Our walk will include:
Kāinga Kaumātua, 10 homes for Kaumātua – Elders
Kāinga Tuatahi, 30 homes for Whānau – Families
Kāinga Hawaiki, 24 homes for multi-generational living and the shared spaces between.
