Audience Support Volunteer
Description
Be a part of the magic of our production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Nights' Dream.
We're seeking up to six fun and energetic individuals for each if the six performances to help us manage our unique production on the trail at Viles Arboretum.
This performance will begin in or near the barn, and as the story progresses, the actors and audience will move from location to location along the trail (about 1/2 a mile). We need some volunteers to help us guide the audience from location to location in a friendly and entertaining way.
If you like to sing, play music, dance, or perform in any way, this is the perfect opportunity for you! We'll work to incorporate and highlight your specific skills to the job. You'll work with Viles Executive Director David Greenham (a long-time theater performer/director/producer) to develop fun and creative ways to guide the audience from place to place.
You can register for just a single performance or multiple shows.
Most importantly, it's an opportunity to come and have fun, and get a 'behind the scenes' view of the tricks and techniques of creating a unique, outdoor performance the moves progressively along the trail.
We're asking that volunteers arrive an hour prior to the performance so that we can review the tasks.
The performance is 80 minutes long and features a cast of six professional actors playing multiple roles. Showtimes are Friday and Saturday, August 21st, 22nd, 28th and 29th at 6 p.m. and Sunday, August 23rd and 30th at 4 p.m. Tickets are limited to 50 audience members per performance.
