    TOWARDS A BETTER LIFE

An Exploration of the Social Role Valorisation (SRV) Framework with
Regard to People who are Marginalised

A Foundations Forum workshop with Accredited Teacher of SRV John Armstrong.

    Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th August 2021

Worrigee Sports, 131 Greenwell Point Rd, Worrigee NSW 2540

    Shoalhaven Region, South Coast

    ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
The Towards a Better Life workshop teaches a framework for thinking when responding to the needs and interests of people who are at risk of being devalued. The workshop will explore social devaluation and its consequences for people who are marginalised and how SRV can be used as a means of addressing those experiences of devaluation.

Participants will be asked to consider and discuss how individuals, human services and society contribute to the marginalisation of such people.

The workshop will inspire participants to imagine the good life and consider how we may support people who have been denied so many beneficial features of a good life to have better lives and greater
involvement in their communities. Completion of this workshop enables you to attend the SRV practicum, called PASSING.

    Who is this workshop for?
The workshop is designed for participants from a range of sectors (disability, aged care, mental health, education, youth etc.). This will include managers, support workers, coordinators, family members, people with disability, people with a mental illness, older people receiving services, advocates, students, and educators.

All participants should be people who are looking for ways of meeting the real needs of marginalised people, resulting in a better life, and who are interested in understanding more about Social Role Valorisation.
