Austrian Dumplings and Kaiserschmarrn

Anna Katharina is back, and sharing more recipes from the classic Austrian canon. For our "rustic" dish, we will make semmelknoedl (bread dumpling) with a seasonal mushroom sauce. This dish is a traditional way to repurpose day-old bread into a delicious comforting dish to pair with anything saucy. Our "regal" dish is Kaiserschmarrn. Literally "king's mess", this dish is most often compared to American pancakes, but usually mentioned with a swooning breath and a dreamy look in one's eyes, as we fondly remember eating this dish at a table on the winding sidestreets of Salzburg or the grand avenue in the shadow of the Stephansdom in Vienna.

Children 10 and older are welcome to join, accompanied by an adult.

Please wear closed-toed shoes, as we will be in a commercial kitchen.
