Author Talk with Omar Musa

Join us at Queanbeyan Library to celebrate Miles Franklin Award winner Omar Musa, one of Australia’s most distinctive contemporary writers and a proud Queanbeyan local. Omar will talk about his acclaimed novel Fierceland, as well as his other works including Here Come the Dogs, The Vape Lord of Queanbeyan, Parang and Millefiori. Hear about his creative journey, his connection to Queanbeyan and the stories behind his writing.

After the talk, Omar will also be awarding the winners of the Y-POP Awards (Young Poets of the Palerang), a local initiative from Collins Booksellers Queanbeyan created to celebrate the creativity of young poets aged 8–17. Finalists across three age groups will have the opportunity to receive personalised feedback from Omar, as well as win book vouchers and prize packs.
