Event description

Learn how to navigate the world of being a writer with autism, and how to harness the positive aspects of this condition.

During this workshop, award-winning autistic writer Jason Fischer will guide participants through the ways that a writer with autism can succeed. As the head of autism-specific organisation Spectrum Writing, Jason has guided dozens of neurodivergent authors along their individual writing journeys. In this fun hands-on workshop, participants will learn about:

  • Using goal setting to demolish 'Demand Avoidance'
  • How to weaponise hyperfixation
  • The 'Magpie Method' - Jason's tried and true way of speed-building any story.

Neurodivergent writers may apply to the Queensland Writers Centre Fellowship & Access Fund for subsidised places in this workshop (in-person only). Please contact Queensland Writers Centre at info@qldwriters.org.au for more information.
