Autumn Equinox Celebration
Event description
Fall is all about reflecting on the warm days of summer, harvesting the last of the year’s produce, and then turning our attention towards preparing for the winter ahead. We can do this for our life, as well. We call it "living seasonally". At Mabon, the autumn equinox, we reflect on our goals and dreams, feel gratitude for the accomplishments (our fruit) that we’ve made (harvested), and then look forward to any changes we still wish to make in our lives.
Join us during the Autumn Equinox and learn to live seasonally. Your afternoon and evening will be filled with peaceful reflection during a guided meditation, beginner Yoga poses, and a nature spirit walk - or perhaps a "sit" within nature should you feel more inclined. Yoga and meditation will be designed to open us to our inner truth, life's purpose and intuition.
We'll listen for messages on the wind and in the songs of birds and chirping of crickets and let our energy unfurl around us as we connect with the earth on this special day when the world is balanced evenly between dark and light.
We'll partner with the farm's horses and let our energy and intention join with theirs. We'll spend some time with them learning through hands-on activities how actions and thoughts can affect our own bounty and harvest as well as those around us. These fun activities are all on the ground with no riding and horse experience is NOT necessary. You can expect a safe, relaxing encounter with your horse partner while connecting with them energetically and spiritually.
Once the horses have imparted their wisdom to us, we will settle around a warm, welcoming fire to reflect on our evening. Some of us may wish to talk about our feelings and insights. Others may wish to just listen. There is no wrong way of reflecting. Drums will be offered for everyone to play in our circle, and we will drum to bring up our energy, to heal ourselves, and to honor Mabon. At the end of the circle, we'll share in a ritual of release and reflection.
Seasonal drinks and foods will be provided and are included in the cost of the evening. We will share these as we wind down our evening. Bottled water will be available throughout the event.
