Kink can be incredible! But even the things we love can become exhausting. Between navigating relationships, managing expectations, participating in communities and social groups, and pursuing new experiences, it's easy to find ourselves overwhelmed, disconnected, or struggling to enjoy something that once brought us pleasure.

This class explores how burnout develops in kink, how to recognize its signs, and what we can do to prevent or recover from it. We'll examine the emotional, social, and practical demands that contribute to burnout, including the pressures we place on ourselves and the expectations we encounter from others.

We'll also discuss ways to recognize our changing capacity, establish more sustainable boundaries, navigate guilt around stepping back, and rebuild our relationships with kink when exhaustion or disillusionment has taken hold. Rather than focusing solely on pushing through or becoming more resilient, we'll explore how to make meaningful changes to the ways we engage with kink and our communities.

Whether you're already feeling burned out, noticing the early signs, or hoping to build a more sustainable relationship with kink, this class offers practical strategies for protecting your energy, reconnecting with what matters to you, and finding enjoyment on your own terms.

Ember Solaris (they/she) is a Sadistic D-type leaning switch and social scientist who infuses her passion for research into every class she presents. A professional information sponge and infodumper, Ember's classes combine depth, passion, ferocity, and ethical complexity.

Ember collaborates with their co-organizer Ms_Kitten_ to run the Let it Reign and Reign of Blood platforms to provide quality, accessible kink education across experience levels, interests, and intensity preferences. Ember has taught across the country and beyond and regularly presents online. A disabled, queer, genderqueer nerd, they live in the gray spaces and hope to meet you there.
