'Off The Beaten Track' AWEMS Conference will take place in nipaluna/Hobart, lutruwita/Tasmania from the 27th-28th November 2025 with optional pre-conference workshops on 26th and our inaugural AWEMS Wilderness Med Challenge on 29th. This is our 5th annual conference and we are thrilled to welcome you all back to Hobart again.
Join us in November to hear from an inspiring line-up of speakers who will be presenting on a wide range of topics in wilderness and expedition medicine including: humanitarian healthcare, hypothermic cardiac arrest management, the Franklin River rescue, altitude medicine, hydration management, endurance event medicine, analgesia in the wilderness, polar medicine and more!
The wilderness of Tasmania is a paradise for hikers, trail runners, climbers, kayakers, pack rafters and mountain bikers alike - we encourage all attendees to make the most of this beautiful location and leave extra time to explore around the time of the conference!

Friday 28th November (08:00-17:00): conference +/- social event @ Shambles Brewery
Saturday 29th November (06:00-17:00): inaugural AWEMS Wilderness Med Challenge (more details coming soon)
