Bach in the Dark LIVE! Music for two cellos.
Event description
Bach in the Dark is starting 2022 with a bang!
Rachel is delighted to announce that for the first concert of the year she'll be joined by her dear friend, former teacher and Australian cello legend David Pereira! AND they will be playing live in the large, beautiful space of St James Church.
After negotiations with the church, Rachel and David will play to an audience of 100 in the huge space of Sydney's oldest church - there will be lots of room for everyone to spread out and feel safe and comfortable. Of course, all current COVID protocols will be followed.
The program will include works by Bach, a piece written especially for the program by David based around the Prelude of Bach's fifth cello suite, Mozart's sparkling duo in G major (originally for violin and viola) and Elena Kats-Chernin's 'Phoenix Story' featured on Rachel and David's recording 'Dreaming with Daisy'. What a way to start the year! Want to hear Rachel and David playing together? Just go here...
Door to the venue will open at 6.40pm.
Ticket sales will STOP at 2pm on Saturday February 12, and no tickets will be available at the door. An electronic program will be emailed to all ticket holders by 3pm, but if you would prefer to have a paper program they will be available as you enter the church.
Due to the change in venue, no wine will be served at this concert.
